ACS' Hamptons House Tour Dedicated To Jeanne Going
Jeanne Going On Wednesday, June 7th, the Garden City Unit of the American Cancer Society cordially invites you to enjoy "Castles in the Sand". Also known as the Hamptons House Tour, this wildly popular event is held just once every other year. The tour of three unforgettable mansions in Quogue, Quiogue and Westhampton will take place between 10am and 2pm, and your ticket also includes an open-air luncheon buffet and boutique shopping at La Ronde Beach Club between 11:30 am and 2:30 pm.
This year, the Tour is dedicated to the memory of Jeanne Leonard Going, who lost her battle to ovarian cancer in March of 2005. Jeanne was a woman of great warmth and humor who left a lasting impression on the many lives she touched. She was a loving mother and grandmother, a loyal friend, an avid golfer, and a talented designer. Her fight against this disease was exemplary of the way in which she lived her life--with courage, grace, and dignity.
As an interior designer, Jeanne Going started Jeanne Leonard Interiors in 1979. Through the years, Jeanne and her talented designers have decorated homes in Palm Beach, Westchester, Manhattan and the Hamptons. Two of the beautiful homes on this year's Hamptons House Tour are examples of the talent and style of Jeanne Leonard Interiors.
Having lived in Westhampton Beach for over twenty years, Jeanne and her husband, Jim, along with their daughter, Devon, returned to Garden City in 2003. Also living in town are two of Jeanne's sons, Garrett and Drew, and their families. The youngest of the three boys, Bryan, resides in Westhampton Beach.
We hope you will join us in honoring Jeanne Going at this special event. Invitations will be mailed soon, and further information will appear in "The Garden City News".
