Preparation are underway for this year's Garden City Retired Men's Club's Coed Cocktail party. As in the past two years, it will be a catered affair but with the addition of professionally presented music and entertainment.

The party will take place on Sunday, July 16 in the Senior Recreation Center area and provisions for a dance floor under the trees are planned.

All senior Garden City residents and their guests are welcome and urged to make their reservations early. The Club will make every attempt to situate friends together. Seating and reservation inquiries ( the tariff will be well under $50 per couple) should be directed to the Club at 6 Golf Club Lane, Garden City, NY or call on Mondays and Thursdays between 12 p.m. and 3 p.m. to 746-8914.

Club members are also urged to set aside Monday May 8 for the 85, 90 & 95 birthday party. Seventeen members of the club are eligible to attend "on the cuff". The menu for this extraordinary win-ding will include Italian heros, sandwiches, hot dishes, salads, a birthday cake and beverages to quench any thirst.

A month later, June 8, the Club will hold the first of its two annual cookouts. On the menu will be barbequed sausage, hamburgers, frankfurters salads, ice cream and cold beverages.

Now that the Recreation department has rebuilt the bocce court, all resident seniors, men and women, are invited to join in this form of lawn bowling. The bocce season will start on May 15 and a set of bowling balls will be in the Center and available from noon to 5 p.m. each day the senior men are at the center.

A set of rules for bocce from the United States Bocce Federation will be posted on the bulletin board in the Center' a pool hall. Players with their own bowling balls are invited to use the court whenever it is empty. Winning teams will compete against teams awaiting to play in the order of their arrival at the court.
