College Night
Families of sophomores and juniors are invited to join the Counseling Center at Garden City High School for their second annual College Night on Wednesday, April 26 at 6:45 p.m.
Representatives from 50 colleges and universities will be on hand to answer questions about their schools and the college admissions process in general.
The evening will consist of large panel discussions as well as three small group sessions with college representatives to answer individual questions.
Internet Safety Training For Parents
The Garden City Community Council on Substance Abuse & Violence Prevention will present "Internet Safety Training for Parents" on Monday, May 1, from 7:30 to 9 p.m. in the High School Library . Mr. Anthony Zenkus, from the Coalition Against Child Abuse & Neglect will answer some frequently asked questions:
+ Do you know who your child is "talking to" on the Internet?
+ Do you know what websites and chat rooms your child visits?
+ Can you say for sure that strangers have not contacted your child over the Internet?
+ Do you know if your child has a MySpace.com account or if they are posting personal information on the web?
+ DOES YOUR CHILD KNOW MORE ABOUT USING THE COMPUTER THAN YOU DO?
