Music In The Cathedral
As part of the "Music in the Cathedral" concert series, The Adelphi University Symphony Orchestra, conducted by Christopher Lyndon-Gee, will perform on Friday, April 28th, at 8 p.m. at the Cathedral of the Incarnation, 50 Cathedral Avenue, Garden City.
Featured soloists will be organist Maxine Thevenot and tenor Jonathan Goodman, professor of voice at Adelphi. Featured works will be a premiere performance of Chicago composer Richard Proulx's "Concerto for Organ and Strings" as well as a Handel organ concerto, the song sycle "Doom-Begotten Music" by Joanne Metcalf, and Mr. Lyndon-Gee's own "Musik fur SaitenInstrumente." Mr. Lyndon-Gee, a Grammy-nominated conductor of international reputation, is in his third year as music director at Adelphi.
Tickets for the concert will be available at the door, and are $15 general seating, $5 for high school and college students, free for children under 13.
