Ambrosino Meets ValentinesFor Vets Students

2006-03-24 / School

Hempstead Town Councilman Edward Ambrosino assembles with students from the Homestead Elementary School in Garden City for its Valentines for Vets program which the Town instituted in 2001. Through this program students create valentines to send to veterans in local VA hospitals. The councilman collects the valentines and brings them to a veteran's organization which delivers them to the hospitalized veterans. Many of these men and women don't have families and it means so much to them to know that the young children appreciate them for the sacrifices they have made for our nation. Pictured with the students and councilman is Dr. Suzanne Viscovich.
