Moms and daughters enjoyed spending time together.Moms and daughters enjoyed spending time together. What does a stray dog named Winn-Dixie and a pigeon named Nipper have in common with the Garden City Public Library? Winn-Dixie and Nipper were the subjects of books discussed at the library's first-ever Mother/Daughter Tea and Book Discussion and Father/Son Book Discussion.

Moms and daughters discussed "Because of Winn-Dixie," by Kate DiCamillo, while fathers and sons discussed "Wringer," by Jerry Spinelli. In addition to the thought-provoking discussions, there were refreshments and special raffles.

Please visit www.gardencitypl.org for upcoming events and registration dates. Funding for these programs has been provided by the Friends of the Garden City Public Library. Priority for registration and participation is given to children who are Garden City Public Library cardholders.
