News From The Children's Room
The Page Turners, the book discussion for children presently enrolled in Fourth and Fifth Grades, will hold its final meeting tomorrow, Saturday, March 25, from 11:00 AM - 12:00 PM. The children will VOTE in the very first 3 Apple Book Award - A NYS Children's Choice Award! They will also bring their favorite fiction book to discuss.

New Friends in Books Club, the book discussion program for children presently enrolled in Third Grade, will hold its final meeting on Wednesday, March 29. The program is forty-five minutes long and begins at 3:45 PM. The book to be discussed is "The Night the Bells Rang", by Natalie Kinsey-Warnock. Please check with a librarian for availability.
On April 18 at 11:00 AM, the Children's Department will present "Books Alive", with Lee Knight. Her program employs movement, singing and theatre to inspire the joy of reading. This program is for Garden City residents, ages 3 through Grade 5 and their families. Tickets are required and will be distributed starting April 8 at 9:00 AM when the library opens. Do not miss this enjoyable program.
On April 20 at 11:00 AM, the Children's Department will present a family film, "Pollyanna". Refreshments will be served.

Priority for registration and participation is given to children who are Garden City Public Library cardholders.
