The Community Club of Garden City and Hempstead is pleased to announce that well known artist, teacher and author Michelle Temares will be guest speaker at their April 5th General Program to be held at the Garden City Casino at 1:30 P.M. Ms. Temares will discuss "17th Century Holland: The Golden Age", a brief period of time in the art world when countless breathtaking masterpieces in an incredible variety of styles were created. Rembrandt, Vermeer, Steen and other masters gave the world some of its best loved paintings including "Girl With The Pearl Earring", "The Night Watch", "The Card Players", and many more. She will share with us what happened in Holland at that time to produce and support such a magnificent legacy.
Ms. Temares is currently an Adjunct Professor at Hofstra University, the official Artist in Residence at Old Sturbridge Village, children's educator and adult drawing and painting instructor at Planting Fields State Historic Park and a Master Teaching Artist with ArtsGenesis. She is the author of two best selling art instruction books, "Painting Floral Botanicals" and "How to Design Your Own Painting Projects", as well as over 40 illustrated magazine articles. She is also a juried and elected member of the Society of Illustrators and the National Art League. Ms. Temares holds undergraduate degrees from Cornell University and FIT and an MA in illustration from Syracuse University.

Ms. Temares' work appears on licensed products sold at major retailers throughout the U.S., South America and Europe.
