Mr. Garibaldi is remembered in many ways. He is described by those who have had the good fortune of meeting him as an earnest, soulful man who carried himself with great dignity, character and honor. His motives were pure and simple. He wore his love and passion for his family and his wife in particular, on his sleeve, in his heart, and it was apparent in everything he did. His only time for boasting was when he talked about his family. He made a point of letting each of them know how proud he was of their accomplishments and their character. He did not judge others, nor did he put his high personal standards of character and dignity as a goal for others. He lived his life by example, not by instruction. A celebation of his remarkable life was held at the Church of St. Anne’s on February 25, 2006. Donations in his honor can be made to The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (www.leukemia-lymphoma.org) or the Church of St. Anne’s, 35 Dartmouth Street, Garden City, NY.
