On February 21, someone stole $80, personal papers, 7 credit cards and a Coach handbag valued at $135 from an unlocked car parked on Whitehall Blvd...Between February 19 and 20, someone stole a $120 DVD player and a $200 Nintendo DS and $10 in loose change from a car parked at a Second Street residence...A $900 Big Tex trailer was stolen from the Village Yard parking lot between February 25 and 27... On February 24, a 45-year-old South Hempstead woman reported that her wallet containing credit cards, personal papers and $240, had been taken at Sears...On February 25, between 12:30 and 2:45 p.m., while a resident was out, someone broke a wooden door frame at a Middleton Rd. residence and stole approximately $1400 in jewelry...Between February 13 and 14, someone damaged a $500 walkway railing at Edgemere Park... A 30-year-old Great Neck man allegedly stole over $280 in assorted clothing, mostly designer belts, at Lord and Taylor on February 24... On February 22, a 39-year-old Baldwin woman allegedly took over $160 in merchandise, which included Lucky jeans, at Lord and Taylor...On February 28, a 44-year-old Franklin Square woman allegedly stole a $328 Coach handbag at the store...A 34-year-old Bellmore woman allegedly stole 2 pairs of Ralph Lauren sunglasses, 3 Ralph Lauren belts and a Via Spiga belt at the store on February 23...A 36-year-old Mineola woman allegedly acting in consort with a 40-year-old Mineola woman, were arrested on February 20 after they were observed allegedly putting more than $237 in merchandise in a stroller at Sears...On February 27, a 42-year-old Long Beach man and a 43-year-old Hempstead man allegedly acted in consort when they allegedly stole several pairs of pants at Lord and Taylor...On February 24, PO Hennessy arrested a 44-year-old Hempstead man for aggravated unlicensed operation second and third degree, after the motorist failed to stop at a sign at Main St./Meadow St. The man had outstanding warrants for disorderly conduct and for aggravated unlicensed operation...PO Fracassa arrested a 39-year-old Cob Connecticut man for alleged DWI ( .13%) after the motorist's car hit another car in a parking lot near a medical building on Franklin Avenue at 3:07 p.m., on February 16...On February 25, PO Oswald arrested a 36-year-old Brentwood man for alleged DWI (.09%) at Franklin Avenue/ Old Country Rd. after the motorist allegedly passed a red light there...A truck stop was conducted at Clinton Rd./Old Country Rd. on February 23. 8 trucks were inspected with 57 tickets issued and 4 trucks taken out of service...

Lint built up in a dryer and caused a light smoke condition at a Cartaret Place residence on February 24...Workers set off an alarm at a Homestead Ave. house on February 25... On the same day, the FD arrived at the scene of an overturned auto at Stewart Ave./Clinton Rd. The occupants were already out of the car but firemen cleaned the road using speedidry...A health aide cooking chicken set off a smoke alarm at a Monroe St. residence on February 25... An overheated fan caused smoke at the Science Building, Adelphi University, on February 28...
