Community Club’s March Programs
March doldrums can disappear at one of the various programs that the Community Club of Garden City and Hempstead will be presenting during March.
Programs offered during the month consist of two musical adventures, one from Colonial America with the Sampawams Creek group, and the other, the cabaret style of Shelly Shields performing favorites from Gershwin, Porter, et al. The Garden Department is presenting “Hal Mahoney in Instant Bonsai” - a lecture and demonstration of this ancient art. Agnes Sura will lecture and show slides about how dolls have been made specifically to raise money for charity. She will also show some of her collection.
Pick one, or more, of these programs and enjoy an afternoon with the club. Over tea and cookies you can learn more about the Community Club and how it can enrich your life, not only during March, but throughout the year.
Arrangements for a guest pass can be had by calling the Community Club office at 746-0488. Willa Ward, the office manager, is in the office Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
Joining in March gives you all the programs of March through May, plus the benefit of membership for the coming season of September 2006 through May 2007. Why not treat yourself to new friends and expand your horizons?
