Marie Fischer (President) and Joel Catania (Treasurer) of the Garden City Student Aid & Scholarship Fund with “Speedy” of the Harlem Wizards, who will lead his teammates in displaying a repertoire of “Trick Hoopz & Alley Oops” against a team of Garden City District teachers on Saturday, February 4. The Garden City Student Aid and Scholarship Fund is sponsoring an afternoon of great entertainment for children and adults by bringing the popular basketball troupe, ‘The Harlem Wizards” to town on Saturday, February 4th at 1 p.m. in the Garden City High School Gymnasium.

The Wizards will display their antics against a team composed of Garden City school district teachers including: from the High School - David Izzo, James Infranca, Carlo Rebolini, Michelle DeCollibus, Amy Regis, Kevin DiBitetto, Mark Quigley, Scott McCauley, Brad Hepworth and Dan Doherty; from the Middle School - Erin Schoelle; from Stratford - Amanda Mathers; from Stewart - Crystal Boyd and Jon Leake.

The Wizards will showcase their array of fancy ball handling and scheming plays that will dazzle their opponents and the audience alike. If they are challenged, the Wizards will call on their exceptional basketball skills to outscore their opponents.

The Harlem Wizards’ “Speedy” congratulating the winner of the “Elimination Game” during his recent promotional visit to the Middle School. The event will also feature a half-time show with audience participation and a “50-50” raffle. Refreshments and souvenirs will be available for purchase. The doors will be open at noon with the show starting promptly at 1:00 p.m. Be sure to arrive early to get good seats. If you have ordered tickets in advance by mail, they will be available at the pick-up table at the door.

Tickets are available at the door for $12. Children three years of age and younger will be admitted free. Strong advance sales indicate that a sellout is likely for this fun-filled day.

The Garden City Student aid & Scholarship Fund is a charitable, non-profit organization that provides scholarships and loans to Garden City High School Students. All proceeds from this event will be used to increase its program of assisting deserving students to financing their college education. Please support our cause by attending this event.
