Police Report: Mischief and Mayhem

On January 29, 4:50 a.m., PO Oswald observed a motorist allegedly passing a red light and driving in two lanes and he arrested a 22-year-old Farmingdale man for the alleged offense of DWI(.10%), a felony because of a prior conviction. The motorist was also charged with aggravated unlicensed operation, a felony, and other traffic law violations...PO Conti arrested a 29-year-old Woodhaven man for alleged DWI (.08 %) on Stewart Ave. near Lee Rd. at 4 a.m. on January 27...Someone stole a wallet containing $20, credit cards, a license and personal papers, from a handbag placed in a room at the Bar Association, on January 29, in the late morning hours...Between January 25 and 26, unknown persons damaged a 2002 Town and Country car parked at Tannerspond Rd. A rear window valued at $200 was found shattered...In the afternoon on January 30, someone took a pocketbook containing $5, credit cards and personal papers, from a medical office on Franklin Avenue...On January 5, a car alarm sounded and a Washington Avenue resident rushed out to find his car's windows broken. Damage was $400... On January 24, 2:20 p.m., a 45-year-old Hempstead woman allegedly stole assorted designer sportswear, mostly DKNY and Ralph Lauren, at the Lord and Taylor store, Franklin Avenue. Value of items was $795...A 33-year-old Westbury man allegedly took rings, 2 pairs of sneakers, and miscellaneous items, at Sears, Franklin Avenue on January 29... On the same day, a 31-year-old Williston Park woman allegedly took $390 in children's items from the store...On January 28, 12:30 p.m., someone took $120 and a Motorola cell phone valued at $100 out of a woman's bag as she was changing clothes in a dressing room at Sears...PO Sommer observed a car with an expired inspection sticker on Second Street/Hilton Avenue, on January 27, at 8 p.m. He noticed that the driver, a 17-year-old male from West Hempstead, had 6 bags of marijuana in his possession as well as a pair of knuckles. The teen was arrested for the possession of marijuana and for the criminal possession of a weapon 4th degree. The underage passenger in that car, was released to his parents... On January 31, a truck stop was conducted on NHP Road. 17 trucks were inspected with 80 tickets issued and 3 trucks taken out of service...On January 27, after 11 p.m., there was a report of a loud party on Euston Rd. and a 17-year-old there was issued a ticket for having a loud party. Another 17-year-old there was also issued a ticket for the possession of alcohol...Crossing guards are still needed, and anyone who is interested should contact Inspector Jackson at 465-4100...

Natural and mechanical ventilation was used to clear the air...
