Alice Brown To Speak At Sunday Forum

The Sunday, February 5, forum topic at the Garden City Community Church is "Recent Research in Brain Development: Implications for Parenting and Early Childhood Education." Alice Brown, Director of the Child Activity Center at Adelphi University, will be the speaker. This is a preschool and kindergarten program. Ms. Brown, MA Ed., is active in child advocacy and early childhood education issues on state and national levels.

She will discuss discoveries in brain development that have implications for parenting and early preschool education. She will explain how the research is done and what facts are revealed pertaining to how children learn and develop.

This Forum is a must for parents, teachers, community and church leaders, counselors and all interested members of the community. The Forum is held in the Church Parlor at 9:15 a.m.

Garden City Community Church is part of the United Church of Christ. Worship services are Sundays at 8:30 a.m. and 10:30 a.m., with church school for children and a crib room for infants and toddlers at the later service.
