Long Island Junior “C”
License Course
now forming.
The Garden City Centennials Soccer Club will be sponsoring a Long Island Junior “C” license course. The “C” license course introduces students to the fundamental concepts of soccer and teaches attendees how to coach this wonderful game. It is a great course and strongly recommended for anyone currently coaching intramural soccer or for those aspiring to coach at the travel level. This course will be free to those individuals who are currently coaching in the Garden City Centennial program or that have volunteered to coach in the spring 2006 season. All others will be required to pay an $85 registration fee. The schedule for this course is as follows:
Mon. Jan. 23 from7-10 pm
Mon. Jan. 30 from7-10 pm
Mon. Feb. 6 from7-10 pm
Mon. Feb. 13 from7-10 pm
You must attend all four nights to pass this course.

Soccer Club Season Opens April 8
The Garden City Centennial Soccer Club will be opening their spring season on Saturday, April 8. Girls’ games are scheduled for 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Boys play in the afternoons from 1 to 4 p.m. The program runs for eight consecutive Saturdays with the exception of Easter and Memorial Day weekends. The season ends June 10 with Soccerfest. A full schedule can be found at www.gccentennialsoccer.org.
The program is open to girls entering Kindergarten in September through 9th grade and boys entering Kindergarten in September through 6th grade. Register by visiting the www.gccentennialsoccer.org and select the “online intramural registration” link. The registration deadline is January 31.
Travel Coach Applications Now Available
The Garden City Centennial Soccer Club has applications available for those adults interested in coaching travel soccer at the U10 level. Candidates will be interviewed this spring to coach teams that will begin season in July. These will be newly formed teams of players whose birth dates fall between August 1, 1996 and December 31, 1997.
If you are interested in receiving an application or have any questions about the coaching positions, please contact Sandra Young at 739-1305. The deadline for returning applications will be January 31, 2006. NO applications will be accepted after this deadline.
Girls Division 2 Soccer - President’s Weekend Indoor Soccer Tournament
The Centennials are putting together a girls U8 indoor soccer team for the President’s Weekend Tournament at the Rough Riders’ Global Training Center. All GC Centennial Division 2 players are eligible. The 10 player roster will be selected on a first come first serve basis. The cost will be approximately $40 per player and we will play a minimum of 4 games all on Saturday February 18.
