John J. Watras, WPOA Candidate For Trustee

John J. Watras has been unanimously selected as the Western Property Owners Association's candidate for Trustee.

Mr. Watras is finishing his second term as Trustee for the WPOA. As trustee he has been Fire Commissioner, Commissioner of Building and Planning, worked on the Environmental Advisory Board and to date is Commissioner of Finance. Mr. Watras has served as Liaison to the Chamber of Commerce, Liaison to Library, and serves on the traffic commission. John started with the WPOA in 1995 and served in a number of capacities including President, Vice President, Treasurer and Director.

Mr. Watras is with Concept Capital a division of Sanders Morris Harris. He is a Senior Vice President and Managing Member of Prime Brokerage. Concept has offices in New York City and Garden City.

Mr. Watras is a Hofstra University Graduate and is a Registered Securities Broker and Principal. He is the Chairman of the development committee of Hagedorn Little Village School.

Mr. Watras is married with two children both of whom attended Garden City Schools. Mr. Watras has been involved in coaching and is currently involved with the challenger league.

The members that have served on the nine member Nominating Committee were; Chairman Paul Muscarella, Robert Alvey, Helen Carrs, Germaine Greco, Thomas Nastasi, Gloria Weinrich, Carol Whalen, Thomas Whalen and Bruce Wildermuth.
