Book Talk On Best-Selling Title
Now's your opportunity to discuss the best-selling novel, Christ the Lord: Out of Egypt, by Anne Rice. Resurrection Lutheran Church invites all to this next in a series of book discussions, Wednesday, Jan. 18, starting at 8 PM at the church.
In recent years, Ms. Rice has gained a large and devoted following, thanks to her many novels devoted to vampires. Needless to say, her newest effort, a fictionalized account of Jesus as a young boy, represents a diversion from her previous themes. This latest book offers a great starting point for discussion on topics such as the unique dual nature of Jesus Christ, the challenges in attempting to novelize Jesus' life, and understanding God's presence and the role faith plays in our own lives.
Resurrection's Rev. Jeffrey Browning will lead the discussion. "We like to discuss books that are unique and thought-provoking, especially to a person of faith," he said. "The sessions have been a big hit. Participants really seem to enjoy the opportunity to share their thoughts in a friendly atmosphere."
Resurrection-Garden City is a community of faith, located at 420 Stewart Avenue.
