Thayer - Fitez Wedding

Mr. and Mrs. Erik FitezMr. and Mrs. Erik Fitez Ms. Elizabeth A. Thayer of Hamilton, New Jersey, and Mr. Michael D. Thayer of Kihei, Hawaii (both formerly of Garden City) are pleased to announce the wedding of their daughter, Erika Thayer, to Erik Russell Fitez, on December 2, 2005. Eighty of their closest friends and family were in attendance at the sunset ceremonywhich took place at the Grand Wailea Seaside Chapel at the Grand Wailea Resort & Spa in Maui, Hawaii. A cocktail hour and reception followed at the restaurant Spago at Four Seasons Resort Mauiwhere everyone enjoyed Mai Tai's, delicious Hawaiian food and the panoramic view of the Pacific Ocean and Wailea Beach.

Sara Thayer, the bride's sister-in-law, served as matron of honor. John Shanahan, best friend of the groom, served as best man. Yasmin Khan, Kristy Medlin, and Alexandra Garner were bridesmaids. Chloe Engle and Scarlett Engle (cousins of the bride) were junior bridesmaids. All bridesmaids wore hand painted sarongs by local artist Diane Lane with coordinating tops and walked barefoot. Lee Thayer (bride's brother), Christian Mack (bride's step-brother), Dean Gregory and Alex Fitez (groom's brother) served as groomsmen. Clyde Engle, Jr. (cousin of the bride) was the ring bearer. All groomsmen wore Tommy Bahama Hawaiian shirts and khaki's with brown sandals.

Mrs. Fitez graduated Garden City High School in 1996 and works for the real estate developer, The Cordish Company, in Baltimore, MD. Mr. Fitez graduated The Boys Latin School in Baltimore, MD in 1996, and earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in Business Management from Hofstra University in 2000, where he also played lacrosse for the Flying Dutchmen. Erik is a production supervisor with the pharmaceutical company Alpharma in Baltimore, MD.

The couple spent three weeks on the Island of Maui before returning to Baltimore, Maryland, where they currently reside.
