"Medicare Part D: A Prescription For Confusion?"

The Nassau County Department of Senior Citizen Affairs will present a workshop entitled "Medicare Part D: Is It a Prescription for Confusion?" This program, the first one in the Department's series of Gerontology Workshops 2006, will be held on Tuesday, January 31 from 9:30 to 11:30 am at the Smeal Learning Center, 201 I.U. Willets Road, Albertson. Senior citizens and their caregivers, professionals in the aging network and members of the community at large are invited to attend this workshop which will be offered free-of-charge. Registration is required in advance.

Representatives from the Social Security Administration, EPIC (New York State's Elderly Pharmaceutical Insurance Coverage Program) and the Nassau County Department of Senior Citizen Affairs will join to offer information on the new Medicare Part D Program. These experts in the field will help clarify the process that senior citizens are encouraged to use in making an application. They will demonstrate how to complete a needs assessment and how to use the various interactive tools that are available on the Internet to facilitate enrollment in an appropriate prescription plan. There will be an opportunity for questions and answers.

Registration is on a first-come, first-served basis. For more information and to reserve a seat for this workshop, please call the Nassau County Department of Senior Citizen Affairs at 227-8900. Directions and parking instructions will be forwarded upon registration.
