This past weekend, the Blazers played two exciting games.
On Saturday, the Blazers played a home game against Mineola United. Despite the cold, blustery, weather, the Blazers entered the first half with Zachary Miner scoring a quick goal and Justin Gong also playing great offense. By halftime, the score was tied at 1:1, where it remained at the end of the game. The Blazers saved some of their energy for their Sunday game.
And energetic they were indeed on Sunday when they traveled to Jericho. With Joey Trapasso in goal for the first half, the Blazers dominated Jericho. Patrick Mohan scored the first goal of the game midway through the first half. This was quickly followed by another goal scored by Matt Kelly, assisted by Zach Miner. The action did not stop as Patrick then scored another to bring the Blazers to a 3:0 lead. Reed Bonvissuto had some great moves and passes as he was playing forward. With the Jericho defense playing very deep, Patrick achieved a "hat trick" and scored his third goal of the game. His teammates were very excited and Patrick's accomplishment was quickly referred to by all as "Pat's Hat". Adam Davies, Joseph Giarraputo and Brendan Harney played impressive defense and held strong to allow no goals to be had by Jericho.

The Blazers kept the momentum going and scored one final goal of the game when Aidan Logan booted one into the goal. The final game score of 5:0 really riled up the Blazers who stayed on the field long after the game to enjoy the great Fall weather and celebrate their well-earned victory. The entire team played terrific during both games this weekend. Way to go Blazers!
