Front l-r Joe Torres, Ryan Smith, James Amato, Bobby Clarke, Raymond Leto and Jonathan Granville. The U-9 Cyclones concluded a successful season with a win over a tough East Williston squad this past weekend. Representing this year's Cyclones were Jonathan Granville, Johnny Dehler, Brian Goulard, Raymond Leto, Ryan Smith, James Amato, Joe Torres, Bobby Clarke, Matthew Rogers, Patrick Gibbons, Zack Stamoulis and Marty Waters. The Cyclones would like to thank their manager, Tom Granville, for all his time and effort. The Cyclones were coached this year by John Dehler, Marty Waters, John Leto and John Gibbons. The team would also like to thank Marta Waters for her wonderful photographs.
The most impressive fact regarding this year's team was that every player was able to play in a position that he chose. In fact, every player on the U-9 Cyclones pitched in a game. A frequent, and valid, complaint of parents in the younger leagues is that there is too much emphasis placed on winning and not enough emphasis placed on the development of the children as players and teammates. Manager Granville demonstrated this year that you can give each child equal playing time, allow each child to play in the position he wants, and still win. Thank you for a great season, Coach.
