GU-14 Div. 5 Allstars Place 3rd In EISC Fall Classic Tournament

Coaches: Eric Schay and Doug Ohngemach The GC Centennials Girl's U-14 Division 5 Allstar team traveled out to Hecksher State Park over the Columbus Day Weekend to play in the East Islip Soccer Club's 23rd Annual Fall Classic Tournament, which featured over 185 intramural tournament teams representing towns from all over Long Island. Competing in a tough five team Under 14 Division, GC posted a solid record of 1 win, 2 ties and 1 loss to finish in 3rd place. With each game the players grew stronger as a team, which became evident as GC closed out the tournament with a dominant 3-0 win over host East Islip. The girls played every game with heart and determination as they pulled together as a team to overcome difficult weather/field conditions and compete successfully against other talented tournament teams. Players, parents, coaches and the Centennial Soccer Club are to be commended for supporting and making the team and the tournament experience a resounding success.
