Only 49 Days To Christmas Fete

The Garden City Retired Men's Club's annual Christmas party will take place on Wednesday, December 14 at the Steward Manor Country Club, 51 Salisbury Avenue, Stewart Manor.

The celebration will begin at 12 noon with hors d'oeuvre served to the members and a cheese and vegetable display opened as well. The premium-brands stocked bar, included in the tariff, will be available throughout the meal. After an hour of appetizers the members will be treated to their choice of prime ribs or chicken doused in lemon-butter or oven-poached salmon. The entree will be preceded by a fruit cocktail and a first plate of penne a la vodka and followed by a chocolate mousse

All resident men are invited to join in this happy gathering and are urged to make their reservations early by sending a check for $40.00 to Dr.George Rivara, Treasurer, Garden City Retired Men's Club, 14 First Street, Garden City, NY.

The Christmas affair is the last major event of the year for the Club. Two in-house parties, on Nov. 14 and Dec .5, will close out those Club activities for 2005.

The Club looks forward to revamping its program for the birthday parties in 2006. Under consideration at present is the appointing of a sponsor for each honoree who would give the assembled members a short history of his man. The first of these celebrations is projected for May, 2006.
