Cancer Care of Long Island Encourages You to Take "A Step Closer..." and Walk for Those Affected by Lung Cancer

Third Annual Event is Long Island's Only Walk for Lung Cancer Awareness Month

What: As November is Lung Cancer Awareness Month, support Long Island's only walk dedicated to raising awareness and support for people affected by lung cancer. The third annual "A Step Closer..." 5-mile walk will give people the opportunity to honor those lost to lung cancer, celebrate survivors, and give hope to all who are coping with the disease. Bring pictures and stories to share on The Wall of Hope for this inspiring day.

Special gifts will be given to walkers who raise certain amounts of money. Breakfast will be served at the start of the walk and a light lunch at the finish line.

When: Sunday, November 6, 2005

Breakfast - 8:30 am to 10 am; Opening Ceremony and Walk Start at 9:00 am

Where: Breakfast, Opening Ceremony and Walk Start - American Legion Hall, 66 Veterans Boulevard, Massapequa (in the Massapequa LIRR parking lot)

Walk - Nassau-Suffolk Trail, Massapequa
