Garden City firemen showed the students a film and had a demonstration on smoke detectors. The children sat inside of the fire trucks and assisted with shooting water out of a real fire hose. The firefighters emphasized the importance of having fire drills at home with an established meeting place. The children enjoyed meeting their local heroes and seeing first-hand how they work so well together.
