A Word From The Publisher
This week we feature a coupon for the American Cancer Society, Garden City Unit’s annual Christmas Card, which has been featured in this paper at Christmas time for two decades. The coupon is below, and we hope that our readers will take the time to fill it out and send it, along with a donation to the ACS.

Our letters column this week contains two letters of note which highlight good deeds done by the children of this community.
Mr. Mohen’s point is that most Garden City teens are well behaved and responsible and don’t deserved to be painted with the same brush as those who aren’t. It’s a point well taken, and to the extent that we have done so, we apologize.
On the other hand, there does seem to be an increase in incidents of bad behavior, often accompanied by alcohol abuse, together with a lack of supervision by some parents.
It would be a shame to have to impose a curfew - but if some parents just ignore it when their teenagers roam the streets at night getting drunk, what should the community do? It’ s not a problem that will just go away.
