Town Team and Tournament Team Registration

The Garden City Grapplers, how in their 7th Season, have become the largest and most successful youth wrestling team on Long Island. With over 80 boys the Grapplers have dominated Nassau County winning numerous team titles, tournaments, and dual meets. We stress the basics of wrestling focusing on physical fitness and sportsmanship. The town team is open to beginner and intermediate wrestlers in 2nd-6th grade. The more competitive tournament team is for more advanced wrestlers up to the 12th grade. The town team led by coaches Lofrese, Halaby, Jarvis, and Barbato practice Tuesday and Thursday from 6:30-8:00 starting December 6th in the High School wrestling Room. The tournament team coached by wrestling hall of famer Paul Gillespie practice Monday and Wednesday from 6:30-8:30 at the high school and Tuesday (Optional) and Thursday at Nassau Community College starting November 14th, the town team will attend local tournaments and participate in informal dual meets at Nassau Community College. The tournament team will participate in local and tri-state tournaments and the highly competitive Nassau-Suffolk dual meet league. The cost this year will be $75 for the town team including T-shirt. The cost for the tournament team will be $275 which includes the uniform for any high school wrestler who wants to practice with coach Gillespie on Monday and Wednesday nights the cost is $50.
