Tri Town Auxiliary U
The first meeting of the season for the Tri-Town Auxiliary UCP was held on September 20th at the Garden City Community Church.
The big news and main topic of discussion was the upcoming fashion show at 7:00 PM at the West Hempstead Pompi, on Thursday, October 27th. Fashions and gift bags will be furnished by Lord & Taylor of Garden City. Tickets are $38 includes Hot Hors D'oeuore, wine and soda, salad/pasta, Choice of Entrée, Dessert/Coffee. There will be a door prize and over 60 raffles. Please contact Marlaina Ibrahim at (516)385-2271 for further information. Tickets will NOT be available at the door.
Last July The Tri Town Auxiliary United Cerebral Palsy discharged their outgoing officers and installed new officers. A debt of gratitude is owed to the outgoing members. Co-Presidents Elayne Agatstein, Carmela Guarino, Catherine Marinaro. Executive VP Connie Romeo. Treasurer- Ann Natoli as well as Corresponding Secretary Nina Asche Recording Scy Margate Gannon and Financial Secretary. Catherine Marinaro, as well as the many general board members who years of dedicated service.
President of Council, Iris Alessi installed the new board members: President Lucille Messina, Executive VP Marlaina Ibrahim, Administrative VP Connie Romeo, Treasurer Joanne Desimone, Financial Secretary Diane Smith, Corresponding Secretary Betty Parente, Fundraising VP Ellen Enderle, Membership VP Connie Farano, Public Relations VP & Recording Secretary, Newsletter Editor Kathleen Byrne and Hospitality Coordinator Carole Fromann.
At the first meeting under the new board, apples were the theme. Fresh baked apple themed goodies accompanied by a bagel buffet and hot coffee. Apple themed prized were raffled off as well as a Pathmark Gift Certificate in the "Paid up members" raffle.
The upcoming year will prove to be fun and energetic with many "Fun"raising events in the works. Meetings take place ever 3rd Tuesday of the month excluding summer at 12 non at the Garden City community church (Whitehall and Stewart Ave.in Garden City). The theme will be Halloween and all are ask to come and where your craziest hat! There will be plenty of Halloween treats including a raffle.
