Cathedral Welcomes New Deacon

Deacon Constance LorenzDeacon Constance Lorenz The Reverend Constance Lorenz has joined the clergy as a Deacon at the Cathedral of the Incarnation in Garden City.

Deacon Connie was the first person to be ordained in 1997 by Bishop Rodney Michel, who is currently the Provost at the Cathedral. The Deacon brings to the Cathedral her experience in setting up Pastoral Care Committees, giving Days of Reflection on her favorite subject, prayer, and working with the youth of the parish.

Prior to coming to the Cathedral, Deacon Connie served at Zion Church in Douglaston, Grace Church in Jamaica, most recently at The Church of St. Alban the Martyr in St. Albans, in addition to her home parish of the Church of the Redeemer in Astoria. Her secular job is at Mount Sinai Medical Center in Manhattan where she is an administrative assistant in the Cardiovascular Institute.

Deacon Connie and her husband, Les, just celebrated their 34 th wedding anniversary and live in Richmond Hill, Queens. They have a son, Eric, and daughter, Christine, who are both married.
