Tessellation Finalist Named
Michaela Pewarski Garden City High School Science Research student Michaela Pewarski has been named as a finalist in contest #19 of the annual “World of Escher Tessellation Competition.” Tessellation requires a combination of mathematics and artistic ability. Michaela has a great deal of both. Her work, along with the reactions of the other finalists, can be viewed and voted upon on the Internet at www.worldofescheer.com . To vote go to the web site and click on “contest.” Then go to the individual pages to see the winning entries. You may vote for any finalist whose work you think is the best.
Michaela joins other Garden City Science Research students who have previously excelled in this contest. Jan Cui, Alexandra Rodman, Isabella Bergagnini, Debbi Chiang, Joseph Kasnicki, Alisabeth Shine, Anna Mitchell, and William Wang were Finalists in the earlier 18 years.
