Susan Lee, Assistant Principal Garden City Middle SchoolSusan Lee, Assistant Principal Garden City Middle School At the September 19 Board of Education meeting, the trustees appointed Susan Lee as Assistant Principal of the Garden City Middle School.

Ms. Lee has a B.A. in sociology/education N-6 from Molloy College, an M.S. in special education from Adelphi University, and a P.D. in school administration and supervision from L.I.U/ C.W. Post Campus.

Ms. Lee began her career in Garden City as an elementary education teacher at the Garden City Middle School in 1993. In addition to her teaching duties, she has served as the grade supervisor for seven years, acting chairperson/grade 6 leader, and is presently the English Language Arts Coordinator. Susan Lee began her administration internship in 2003. She is a member of the Principal’s Cabinet, Middle School Restructuring Team, the Instructional Support Team, the Middle States Team, the Curriculum Writing Teams, the Staff Hiring Committee. Since 1998, she has been the teacher representative to the middle school PTA and PTA Executive Board.

Prior to coming to Garden City, Ms. Lee served as an assistant professor at Molloy College from 1981-1993 and taught first grade in Franklin Square from 1976-1979. Susan Lee has a permanent New York State certification in special education K-12, elementary education N-6 and as a School District Administrator. She has a provisional New York State certifications School Administrator Supervisor. Upon receiving this appointment, Ms. Lee said “I am thrilled to be appointed to the position of assistant principal. I am looking forward to working in partnership with the entire middle school community. Above all, it is my intention to help all students achieve their academic excellence, while meeting their social and emotional need within a caring environment.” Susan Lee will begin her new position October 3.
