'Elder Law' Topic Of Free Lecture
Winthrop-University Hospital's Health Update for Seniors and Their Families educational series will sponsor a free lecture for the public, "Elder Law: What You Need to Know," on Wednesday, October 12, 2005, at 1:15 PM. Held at the Mineola Community Center at 155 Washington Avenue in Mineola, the program will provide an overview of topics that will help seniors plan for future needs.
Kenneth P. Mahon, Esq., from Mahon, Mahon, Kerins & O'Brien, will address various issues such as asset protection, transfer rules and penalty periods, choosing trustees and executors, and Medicaid planning and eligibility, as well as a number of other topics designed to educate seniors about their rights. A question and answer period will follow the lecture.
The program begins with blood pressure checks at 1:15 PM, followed by the lecture at 1:45. Seating is limited but reservations are required. To reserve your seat, please call (516) 663-3916.
