Vacation Bible School At Resurrection
"Sing and Play, Roar" leader Elisabeth Erb, teaches us a new song
The Lutheran Church of the Resurrection in Garden City had a record number of children participating in Vacation Bible School this August, as together we ventured through the plains of Africa on our "Serengeti Trek". Each day, the children were greeted by a large group of warm, loving volunteers into our Serengeti hut. The days were filled with inspiring Bible lessons, fun crafts, exciting games, delicious snacks, upbeat music, and daily scripture readings to tie it all together. Each day was completed with a visit from Serengeti Eddy, our Safari Guide, who helped move us through the week.
Keeping "cool" is a whole lot of fun!
Thursday night, Resurrection had a full house of families and friends who gathered to hear what their children they had learned throughout the week. The church's walls were rockin' as we sang songs and gave thanks to God for His great love for everyone!
This year, Resurrection's VBS collected school supplies to ship to children in Africa who are in need of our help. Over 40 bags of school supplies will be shipped to the Operation Kid-to-Kid mission in hopes of sharing supplies and Jesus' love with children in need. The extra monies collected by the VBS will be divided up to help this operation as well as other missions in need. We thank God for the generosity of the families at our VBS that helped to make this possible.
Amber Browning shares something special with her group
Resurrection is already beginning to think about VBS for next year, however there are a lot of great opportunities here at the church until then. You are always welcome to join us each weekend as we share Jesus' love with the community. Resurrection's services are on Saturday evening at 5:30 pm and Sunday morning at 8:30 and 11:00 am, with Sunday school for children and adult education at 9:45 am. We'd love to have you with us!
