Daniel R. Levinson has been appointed Inspector General of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services. Levinson is the son of Mr. Gerald Levinson, a retired corporate executive, and Dr. Risha Levinson, Professor Emerita of the Adelphi University School of Social Work. The Levinsons have been residents of Garden City for over 35 years.

As the Inspector General, Levinson will oversee the integrity of more than 300 HHS programs, including the Food and Drug Administration, the National Institutes of Health, the Center for Disease Control, and the Centers for Medicaid and Medicare Services. Levinson is a graduate of Georgetown Law School and a member of the New York Bar. He lives in Chevy Chase, Maryland, with his wife and their two daughters.
