Sixth Grade Rams Play High School Varsity

2005-06-17 / Sports

The combined Garden City Ram’s sixth grade lacrosse team hosted the #5 nationally ranked Garden City Trojan Varsity lacrosse squad. Sweat from the brow was evident as the varsity players crossed the pitch of St. Paul’s field to engage in the annual slugfest with the PAL Rams. The young Rams had no problem fending off the behemoths. Feeling sorry for the panting high school players an offer was tendered. The supremely conditioned sixth grade athletes and not so conditioned fathers divided up the squads and headed for combat. The mighty mites held their own as referees Mike Fex and Bob Cox controlled the feverish pace. Coach Peter D’Antonio, (bed ridden with the flu,) enjoyed the simulcast and occasionally called in a play by cell phone. Peter the varsity players greatly missed you and wish you a speedy recovery. Actually, they wanted to knock your head off. A few cheap double teams to the fathers were answered by great play from the young Titans. A crowd of 50 parents and friends witnessed nothing shy of a war. No bloodshed was seen, only deflated egos from the old boys. The GC Ram’s program would like to thank these role models for a morning of fun. Taking valuable time away from these studious athletes is appreciated. You are role models for the next generation of GC players. The Rams would like to wish the best of luck with your college careers. Returning GC players we hope to see you next year and good luck next season. Ram toughness prevails.
