Julia Cenzopranop An Italian poetry contest sponsored by the American Association of Teachers of Italian took place on April 8 at Stony Brook University. Two students from Mrs. Sorace’s Italian classes recited poems. Seventh-grader Emily Tudisco won Honorable Mention for doing a superb job reciting an Italian poem called “La Befana.” The poem is about an old woman who brings gifts on the eve of the Epiphany to children who have been good and coal to the bad children.

Eighth-grader Julia Cenzoprano demonstrated excellent effort by reciting a very touching and beautiful poem entitled “Mamma.” Bravissime!
