On june 9, 11:40 pm, someone broke a glass door at an Old Country Rd. residence. Value was $300.... on the same day, an 18-year-old Garden City man was arrested and charged with the theft of services when he failed to pay a $16 taxi fare at the Nassau Blvd. RR station.... on june 10, 2:40 am, PO Florio arrested a 20-year-old Massapequa man for alleged DWI (.16%), alleged speeding and for the possession of marijuana at Hilton Avenue. The man was also in possession of prescription pads in violation of a public health law.... on june 11, PO Oswald arrested a 34-year-old Great Neck man for alleged DWI (.19%).... on june 10, 9:45 am, someone stole a Stihl weed whacker from a landscaping truck on Lincoln Rd.... on june 12, 5 am, PO Oswald arrested a 26-year-old Danbury Ct. man for alleged DWI (.09%) on Clinton Rd. The motorist attempted to switch seats with his passenger and also endangered his child who was not in a safety seat. He also had a suspended license and numerous other traffic violations.... on june 12, 9:35 pm PO Madden arrested an 18-year-old Elmont man for the possession of marijuana at Tannerspond Rd. His car was also suspended.... between june 9 and 12, unknown persons broke 4 window panes valued at $200, at the Music Room, Waldorf School..... po oswald arrested a 47-year-old Uniondale man for alleged DWI (refusal) on Stewart Ave., on June 13, 3:30 am. The motorist was also charged with numerous other traffic violations.... on june 3, 11:10 am, PO Retito arrested a 54-year-old Hempstead man for aggravated unlicensed operation 2 nd degree (7 suspensions, 5 dates) and for an open 1 st District bench warrant.... on june 13, 2:35 pm, PO Cristiano arrested a 23-year-old Baldwin man for aggravated unlicensed operation 2 nd degree and for numerous traffic violations.... a 44-year-old uniondale woman was arrested at Sears, Franklin Ave., on June 9, after she allegedly took a watch, 3 bracelets, underwear and maternity sleep wear there. Value was $124.... between June 5 and 8, an Audiovox CD player was stolen from a car on Arthur St.... on june 14, a 1992 Honda Civic was stolen from Nassau County Field 6.... on june 8, police Officer Buonaiuto, Sgt. Mauren and Detective Barone arrested a 17-year-old Garden City man for burglary at the GC High School, for an incident that had occurred earlier at 2 am. The student allegedly stole computers, radios and other electronic equipment along with master lock combination codes for numerous school lockers. He also damaged numerous door locks with glue.... over this past weekend, 4 local youths were issued appearance tickets for alcohol possession....

fire responses:

on june 10, burned toast set off an alarm at a Franklin Ave. business.... water was found in a basement at Warton Place and the resident was advised to call Roto-Rooter.... a parent at a Hilton Ave. residence was advised that open burning fire is not allowed by Village Code, when youths were found having a camp fire there, on June 11.... biosolve was used to clean a transmission fluid spill on Cherry Valley Ave./Rockaway Ave. on June 14.... Wires came down at Clinton Rd. and at Weyford Terrace, on June 14....That’s all this week. G.T.
