First row: Andrea Tan, Madeline Venjohn, Alexandra Rodman, Michaela Pewarski. Second row: Valentino Wong, Nik Kothari, Mike Dooley, Nich Mancusi, Tommy D’Antonio, Alex Petraglia, Greg Baltz. Garden City High School students Gregory Baltz, Thomas Dantonio, Michael Dooley, Nikhil Kothari, Nicholas Mancusi, Alexandra Petraglia, Michaela Pewarski, Alexandre Rodman, Andrea Tan, Madeline Venjohn and Valentino Wong took the 2004 Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test and have qualified to enter the 2006 National Merit Scholarship Program.

With a Selection Index score of 202 or above, each of these students is among the 50,000 highest-scoring participants of some 1.3 million program entrants. Because these high performers have shown outstanding academic potential, they are now invited to be referred to two colleges or universities in the United States in which they are especially interested. There is no charge for this College Plans Reporting Service (CPRS), which is offered solely to encourage college officials to communicate directly with these able students about educational opportunities that may be av

ailable to them. Participation in the CPRS is completely optional, and the decision about whether to use this service will have no effect on the student’s standing in the National Merit Program.

Congratulations to all the students. We wish you continued success as you move forward in the National Merit Competition.
