The Trojan Baseball Season came to an end this past week as they were eliminated from the Nassau County Class A Tournament. GC lost quarterfinal and semi-final games to #4 Seed Glen Cove. The Trojans ended their season at 22-3. Glen Cove moves on to the County finals and will face #2 Seed Clarke.

Glen Cove Hurler Anthony Carrotta limited GC to 3 hits. Tom Marino, John Emmert and Mike Noone had hits for the Trojans.

Junior Matt Petiton suffered his first loss of the season (8-1). Petiton yielded 3 earned runs on 5 hits. His 10 strike out Performance broke the school record for most K’s in a season. Matt finished the season with 104 K’s. The old record of 94 K’s was held by John Neilson (1973).

Trailing 3-1 into the bottom of the 6th inning, Brian Kiernan’s 2 Run Double scored Tom D’Antonio and Matt Emmert to tie the score.

Glen Cove scored the winning run in the top of the 7th inning on a bases loaded walk.

John Emmert had a 2 out double in the bottom of the 7th inning as GC tried to rally back.
