The JV and Varsity Cheerleaders will be hosting a Car Wash on June 11 from 9 a.m. - 2 p.m. in the Garden City High School Parking Lot. Come and support them as they try and raise money for the 2005-2006 school year.

GCHS Varsity Baseball

The varsity baseball team played 3 non-league games this past week beating V.S. Central and Mepham and suffering their first loss of the season to Herricks. The Trojans are 17-1 overall.

GC 2 V.S. Central 1

Junior Matt Petiton pitched a complete game giving up 5 hits, striking out 9 to improve to 6-0 on the mound.

An infield error gave GC a1-0 lead in the 4th inning. The Eagles tied the score in the 5th inning on a solo home run.

Mike Noone opened the 6th inning for GC with a walk, moved to 3rd on a sacrifice bunt by Matt Emmert and scored on an RBI single by Brian Finneran.

GC 8 Mepham 1

Junior Joe Cesarini Scattered 5 hits over 5 innings to improve to 6-0. Tom Marino closed out the game pitching 2 innings of shutout ball.

The Trojans took charge of the game in the 1st inning as they scored 4 times.

John Emmert and Brian Finneran each had 2 hits. This was the 17th consecutive win for GC breaking the old record of 16 set in 1980 & 2004.

GC 3 Herricks 8

GC fell behind 4-0 in the 1st inning and could not bounce back as they suffered their first loss of the season. Mike Noone hit a 2 run home run. Tom D’Antonio and Brian Finneran had two hits each.
