Celebrating a Well Played Game
Celebrating a Well Played Game The Cinderella season continues for the Garden City Jaguars. After a five game unbeaten streak including one Waldbaum's Cup match and four regular season games, the Jags faced Manhasset in a Thursday night Waldbaum's Cup make-up at Nassau Haven Park. The home team was not completely satisfied with their tie game against New Hyde Park the prior Saturday after securing an early game lead and were determined to post another mark in their "W" column. The boys dominated the field in the first half drastically limiting the visitors shots on goal. The Manhasset squad fought valiantly to avoid a blowout but was outmatched by the intensely tough defense comprised of Brian "The Machine" Flynn, Robert "The Executioner" Sorge and Chris "Blaster" Thomas. The few offensive onslaughts that permeated the Jaguar defense were met by the flawless and methodical saves of net keeper Tyler "The Magician" Biscone whose tremendous punts were nearly shots on goal!

Biscone with Syosset Captain
Biscone with Syosset Captain Midfielders Greg "Speedy" Arning, Thomas "Moves"Bruno and Tommy "Tsunami" Holbrook were instrumental in bridging the gap between the awesome Jaguar defense and the vicious onslaught staged by their offense. The marauding middies worked incredibly well together and continuously fed the offense enabling them to barrage the Manhasset net with shots on goal. In the end, the Jags scored five unanswered goals. It was another Keogh Trio for Patrick "Hat-Trick" Keogh with a big three goal game tally, a clean winner to the back of the net by Tim Turbo Halaby and an huge goal by none other than Big Man Andrew Granville. Biscone poured on the magic and secured his third shutout of the season guarding the Jags net but credited Flynn, Sorge and Thomas for creating scarce demand for dramatic saves and making his job that much easier in the 5-0 Jaguar victory.

Game Over!
Game Over! On Saturday, it was off to Syosset to face a talented squad that was determined to beat their Garden City rivals. Each time that the Jaguars scored a goal, their opponents answered with a goal of their own. Brian Flynn was a major defensive factor in breaking up Syosset scoring opportunities. "Iron Man Mark" Schwendemann, Robert Sorge and Chris Thomas complimented Flynn's tenacious efforts on defense to limit the shots that net keeper Tyler Biscone was called upon to contend with.

The Chase is On
The Chase is On Once again, mid-fielders Arning, Bruno, Halaby and Andrew Granville successfully controlled and moved the ball to create offensive opportunities. Halaby had more than one "near miss" that looked destined to end up on the scoreboard but was not to be. Bruno had a heartbreaker of a shot that hit the post and was an inch away from a the inside of the home team's net. It was a "slow day" for Pat Keogh who "only" scored two goals! "Tsunami" Holbrook scored his second of the season and "Blaster" Thomas lived up to his name by pounding in the game winning goal in for a 4-3 Jaguar Victory.

Turbo Halaby and Speedy Arning
Turbo Halaby and Speedy Arning Seven has indeed proven to be a lucky number for the Jaguars as they remain undefeated in 2005 with five regular season games and two Cup matches under their belt. Let's keep the streak alive boys, your hard work and dedication have undeniably paid off. Go Jaguars!!!
