All residents are reminded to exercise their right to vote on the 2005-2006 School Budget on Tuesday, May 17, from 7 AM - 10PM in the High School Gym.

The 2005-2006 school budget is a fiscally sound document that insures student growth and academic success. The new and continued educational initiatives included in the 2005-2006 school budget are:

• Implementation of New York State Standards in Mathematics

• Enhanced Science Program in the High School

• Implementation of the World Language Program in Grade 6

• District-wide Curriculum Mapping

• District-wide Writing Initiative

• Professional development of the following:

• Balanced Literacy

• Instructional Support Team (IST)

• Writing and Revision

• Differentiated Instruction

• Technology Use and Integration

• Review and analysis of Student Data in Mathematics

• Summer School & AIS

• Summer Institute for Teachers

Beginning at 7:30 PM in the High School Cafeteria, the Garden City High School Music Department will hold its annual Jazz Cabaret. Be sure to stop by and listen to fabulous music and enjoy some refreshments.
