Students Support Hospital

2005-05-13 / School

A representative from Schneider Children’s Hospital in New Hyde Park recently visited Holy Child Academy in Old Westbury to thank the children for their ongoing support. Child life specialist Joan Alpers, who gave a PowerPoint presentation focusing on the distinguished facility, welcomed students as members of Schneider’s body of community volunteers.

Shown here with Ms. Alpers and the framed thank-you letter she presented to the school is Garden City resident Jake Quaile, a fifth grader. Approaching it 50th anniversary, Holy Child Academy is an independent Catholic school with a long tradition of service to others. In addition to grades K through 8, the school offers toddler, nursery, pre-kindergarten and “mommy & me” programs. For further information contact Thea Welch, director of development at Holy Child, at 626-9300, ext. 114.
