'Easing The Squeeze For The Sandwich Generation'
Winthrop-University Hospital's Perspectives in Health series will offer a free lecture, "Easing the Squeeze for the Sandwich Generation: Creative Solutions for the Caregiver's Dilemma" on Tuesday, May 17, at 7:00 PM. Held at Winthrop's Community Outreach Center, the program will offer practical advice for those caught between caring for their children or grandchildren, and an elderly parent.
More than 44 million Americans are providing care to older family members, and the stress can be overwhelming. However, there are resources that can help. Mary DiSario, RN, Nurse Elder Care Consultant, Caring Alternatives Inc., will discuss Geriatric Care Management, Adult Day Services, Medicaid, and other resources for the caregiver and their families. A question and answer period will follow the lecture.
Attendees are asked to arrive at 6:45 PM at the Outreach Center, located at 101 Mineola Boulevard, and to park in the rear of the building. Admission is free, but seating is limited. Reservations are required. To reserve your space, call (516) 663-8300.
