Intermediate Level Computer Class

Not quite a computer newbie, but need to know a little more? Register for "Intermediate Windows & the Internet," a class to be held on Saturday, May 14 at 9:00 a.m. at the Garden City Public Library. Learn how to send, receive, and print web-based e-mail, set up an address book, attach a file, and fine-tune your search skills.

Sign-up is limited to the first nine applicants, and preference will be given to Village residents. Anyone who gets closed out may ask to be put on a waiting list, as the class will be repeated on dates to be announced. Enroll at the Circulation Desk or call the Library at 742-8405.

The Library regrets that, in order to carry on instruction, it must close the Personal Computing & Typing Room to other users, even if there are vacant machines.

News From The Children's Room

The Children's Department would like residents to know about some of our recent additions to our print collection. If your child likes to read the Magic Tree House series, we now carry some of the Magic Tree House Research Guides, which are nonfiction companions to Mary Pope Osborne's popular fiction books. Those who enjoy the Goosebumps series may want to try R. L. Stine's Mostly Ghostly books. Older readers who like the fantasy genre may want to read the series, Guardians of Ga'Hoole, by Kathryn Lasky. And for our mystery lovers, the Trixie Belden series might be the solution to the question, What do I read next? Be sure to stop by and check out these popular titles.

Please check the library website www.nassaulibrary.org/gardenc/ for upcoming events and registration dates. Library programs are presented, free of charge, through the generosity of the Friends of the Garden City Public Library. Priority for registration and participation is given to children who are Garden City Public Library cardholders.
