Nassau County’s Able Ride Program
Able-Ride is a special bus service for people with disabilities. Able-Ride provides transportation for people who are unable to use fixed route bus service for some or all of their trips. Age, distance from a bus, or inability to drive are not taken into consideration in making an eligibility determination.
You and a licensed health care profession of your choice must complete the Able-Ride application. The application is then evaluated and, if accepted, you will be issued an ID card and given further instructions. One way fare for this program is $3.50.
To obtain an Able-Ride application, call 228-4000.
