Garden City’s 5th Grade Boys Lacrosse “White” Team is off to a great start. This past weekend’s first home game brought victory for the boys against the visiting Huntington Village, 7-6. The team impressed their parents and fans with a quick offensive spurt which gave them a 4-0 1st quarter lead. Next it was the defense’s turn to stand tall and hold on as Huntington massed a big 4th quarter comeback. The whole team played hard from the opening face off till the final horn sounded the end of the game. The team bounced back from their opening loss to a tough Manhasset team, 4-2. Under the instruction of Chris Adams, Craig Tigh and Steve Johnson, the lacrosse team is heading in the right direction. The attack is lead by Doug Donnelly, Kyle Howard, Kyle Irwin, Matt Masullo, Scott Larose and Pat Niebler. Adding pressure are middies Brendan Adams, John Atkinson, Pat Berkery, Michael Comiskey, Ryan Mclaughlin, Ryan Norton and Eddie Tigh. Defense stands firm with Matt Adelhelm, Billy Connors, Jack Fisher, Emmet Johnson, Brendan Orr, Brian Walsh and Nick Zawisha. The two Pat’s are in the net. Get well wishes to Andrew Calabro as he recoups, we look forward to having him back in action with the team!
