James Elustondo receiving trophy at NY State tournament James Elustondo, a Stratford School 5th grader, recently competed in the New York State Elementary K-6 Chess Championship in Saratoga Springs, N.Y. James finished in a tie for second place out of 84 participants in the Novice Section winning five of six games.

James also participated in the Long Island Chess Nuts Classic Chess Championship, at Adelphi University. He finished in second place out of 18 participants in the 5th grade section winning 3 of 4 games. James also recently placed first at the Winter 2005 Chess Tournament at the Roslyn Great Knights Chess Club
