Community Club Presents Violinist

Violinist James GraseckViolinist James Graseck The Community Club of Garden City and Hempstead has a very special treat in store for its members and guests at the final program of the 2004-05 season. Violinist James Graseck, New York’s best-known “subway musician,” will be gracing us with his presence. Jim is known and loved by New Yorkers for his solo performances in venues ranging from Carnegie Hall to - believe it or not - New York subway platforms.

A graduate of the Julliard School, he has been soloist with orchestras in New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania and South Carolina. His numerous television appearances include The Tonight Show, Prime Time Live and VH1’s Behind The Music. Jim’s film credits include “One True Thing” starring William Hurt and Meryl Street. Most recently he has been touring with Irish tenor Ronan Tynan. Mr. Graseck’s repertoire covers a vast range from classical through popular standards, ethnic, favorites, Broadway musicals and rock. His recordings include, Vivaldi’s “The Four Seasons,” Rimsky-Korsakov’s “Sheherazade,” “Jesu, Joy of Man’s Destiny” and his latest, “Recklessly Romantic,” fifteen classic songs of romance.

Please be sure to join us on Wednesday, May 4, 2005 at 1:30 p.m. at the Garden City Casino to hear and meet this talented and versatile musician, James Graseck.

The beautiful works of fine art created by members of the Studio Department of the Community Club will also be on display at this meeting for your enjoyment.
