On March 10, Garden City High School students Eric Hugel, Ashley Calame and Juli Thorstenn proudly displayed their bandages after participating in the high school’s most successful blood drive to date. Future Business Leaders of America, Interact Key Club and Heart to Heart organized the event, which collected 148 units - an increase of 22 over last year’s record-setter. Donors and volunteer workers enjoyed ample refreshments provided by the following community-spirited businesses: King Kullen, Food Basket, Key Food, Pathmark, Kings, Bagelman, Garden City Pizza, Valentino’s, Dunkin’ Donuts, Quiznos, Manor Deli, BK Sweeney’s, Togo’s Riesterers and Adelphi Deli.
